Who knew selling jean jackets could be this emotional?

Tugging on the heartstrings of Filipino netizens at the moment is this now-viral video by Levi’s Philippines. Taking cue from other emotionally charged ads like Jollibee’s Kwentong Jollibee series, the video posted Saturday tells the story of a father buying a Christmas gift for his son.

Those sensitive about spoilers might want to stop reading right about now.

The video starts with a man entering a Levi’s store and browsing through its jean jacket selection. He then notices other customers having theirs customized, encouraging him to do the same. He goes up to the counter and animatedly gives the artist instructions. The finished product? A series of small metal studs added to the jacket’s sleeves.

The man brings it home and gives it to his son, who turns out to be blind. The studs added to the jacket were actually designed to say “Anywhere you go, andyan lagi si papa (papa is always with you)” in braille.

Find yourself tearing up? So did the many netizens who have seen the video.

As of this article’s posting, the video has been viewed 1.2 million times with 58,000 reactions, more than 21,500 shares, and 2,000 comments.

“One of my favorite [advertisements],” CK Caballero said. “My heart was touched.”

Jayvee Dee said the video melted his heart. “This TV Ad truly defines love.”

Wingco Juliet said she couldn’t stop crying. “Even after watching it again, I still cried.”

While Tal Manlutac just cracked a joke about how she can’t stop sobbing. “[S]omeone’s cutting onions,” she said.

As with anywhere on the internet, there were negative comments too.

“The product would have been nice but it’s not applicable to sell a jacket [here] with the Philippines’ climate. It’s too hot. Do you sell tank tops?” Marquis Villanueva asked.
