Teenagers can thank alleged pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles for a subject they’ll be studying soon. And it’s not a course on how to use your networking skills to earn billions of pesos.
“The Department of Education (DepEd) will introduce a subject that teach[es] business ethics and social responsibility to high school students,” reports Ina Hernando Malipot in Manila Bulletin.
Napoles’ exploits prompted education officials to introduce the subject among senior high school students, according to Undersecretary Dina Ocampo-Cristobal. She said the subject would be integrated in the accountancy, business and management track for Grades 11 and 12. Education should respond to the changing times, she added.
