The search for Renzo Lopez ended in a heartbreaking tragedy.

The corpse of the 20-year-old father who was allegedly abducted from Quezon City on Mar 14 was found in a funeral parlor in Barangay 178 in Camarin, Caloocan City.

According to an autopsy report, Renzo’s corpse had at least 13 gunshot wounds. The bruises and wounds on his body indicate that he was tortured before he was killed, GMA News reports.

Renzo’s body was brought to the funeral parlor  a day after he went missing. Police allegedly found Renzo dead near trash bins along Quirino Highway.

The circumstances of Renzo’s death remain a mystery. Renzo is not known to be involved in illegal drugs nor was he part of a drug watch list.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, Renzo’s partner Kate Olili shared that bystanders saw Renzo forced by armed men into a van with no license plate.

The Quezon City Police District said that this might be a case of mistaken identity.
