Those who haven’t had lunch (or dinner) yet may want to save this story for later.

Yesterday, four members of an alleged cannibal cult were killed during a police encounter in Midsalip town, Zamboanga.

According to ABS-CBN News, police identified two of the four men who were killed as Ramon and Rondi Bantayan, who is the 7th most wanted in the town. The two were also reportedly the alleged cult’s leaders.

Authorities were about to serve the group with a warrant for murder but were spotted by members of the group right away. The group started shooting at the police, sparking a gun fight.

Apart from being linked to shootings in the area, Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Police Office told GMA News’ Unang Balita that the group is known for eating people’s innards.

Ew.

Police also found that the group was in possession of a .45 caliber pistol, two bladed weapons, and three homemade shotguns.

According to The Philippine Star‘s Pinoy Star Ngayon, police operations continue in search of other members of the alleged cult.
