Sometimes, you aren’t safe even in your own home.
Yesterday, a 43-year-old man was struck by lightning inside his home in Argao, Cebu.
The victim identified as Larry Bajenting was sitting in his living room chair near a television set when lightning hit the antenna and then him at around 5 – 6pm.
Bajenting succumbed to severe burns in various parts of his body.
The incident happened during a blackout and while heavy rains were pouring in Argao, a municipality 67km south from Cebu City.
During the incident, the victim’s wife was in the kitchen cooking dinner while their kids were playing, Sunstar Cebu reported.
He was rushed to Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
