Another case of domestic abuse involving a hammer happened on Friday when a man hit his wife and son with the tool while in their home in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
Regional radio station RMN identified the man as Arturo Tan, 48 years old. According to the report, Arturo hit his wife Jonedah, 40, out of jealousy at around 2pm.
Apparently, he thinks his wife is having an affair with their landlord. His suspicions started after the landlord once called his wife beautiful. After this compliment, Arturo said he noticed that his wife started dressing up more.

ABS-CBN News reported that Arturo said he was drunk when he came home on Friday. He locked the bedroom door when he realized that his wife could have cheated on him in that very room. He went out of his mind thinking about it, which is allegedly why he started hitting his wife with a hammer.
As if this wasn’t bad enough, he also brought their 9-year-old son into the fight and hit the boy with the same hammer.
Both his son and wife sustained head injuries because of the incident.

The boy has undergone a CT scan but is still being treated and is confined in the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, Panay News reported. The wife, on the other hand, was treated in the same hospital as an outpatient.
The police have filed a frustrated parricide case against Arturo who is now in jail, ABS-CBN News reported. He told RMN that he regrets what he did and asked for forgiveness.
A similar incident happened in the province of Bataan last week when a father allegedly hit his 5-year-old child with a hammer upon arriving home for no apparent reason.
