Journalists covering Malacañang Palace and other presidential events noticed something — well — a lot of things wrong when they turned their newly-issued press IDs around earlier this week.
On Wednesday, a photo taken by photojournalist Dana Pata showed more than several grammatical errors on the back of the ID.
The first (incomplete) sentence of the card reads like this in all caps: “THIS CARD TO BE WORN DURING PRESIDENTIAL COVERAGE, BUT SUBJECT TO SPECIFIC ACCREDITATION/SECURITY REQUIREMENTS.”
Bong Santisteban, netizen and copy editor for news organization Rappler, marked other errors he spotted and shared them in a Facebook post.
Presidential Communications Office and Operations Secretary Martin Andanar said in a message to reporters earlier today that protocols weren’t followed, and his digital e-signature was used on the card without his permission.
Andanar said he is recalling the IDs and ordering an investigation into protocols that may have been violated.
