Keep on cycling: Philbike Expo happening on Nov 26-27 at the SMX Convention Center

In the Philippines, biking is not as popular as it should be, well, let’s hope that the PhilBike Expo happening on Nov 26 and 27 at the SMX Convention Center can help change that.

Now on it’s third year, the consumer cycling show gives cycling enthusiasts access to local and international products and demonstrations. There will be 100 brands from the world of cycling and fitness, interative displays and a chance to bring home a spankin’ new mountain bike.

This year is extra-special because top cyclists are expected to show off their mad skillz.

 So, who’s gonna be there?

Let’s start with Belgian cyclist Kenny Belaey who has earned the name “The Magician” for being able to pull off seemingly impossible stunts. His latest video project, “Balance”, saw him crossing a slackline on the top of the French Alps, a feat that had yet to be accomplished by any other biker before him.

Japanese prodigies Yu Shoji (14) and Takumi Isogai (15), collectively known as The Superkids will be there too. The dynamic duo has won numerous awards in the Flatland scene. They will be accompanied by their mentor Viki Gómez, who is returning to PhilBike for the second year in a row.

Gómez is known for his constant creation of new tricks that combine flow and rhythm. He is a three-time Champion of the Flatland World Circuit Series, a three-time Red Bull Circle of Balance Champion, and a two-time winner of the European X-Games.

Rounding up the line-up is a special, one-day only performance from Canadian, Geoff Gulevich. He is the Rocky Mountain Bicycle ambassador and the fourth runner-up for Jumpship 2011.

See you there!
