Don’t think that’s the point of prayer.

Authorities are now looking for a man who stole a church’s microphone cord. How’d he do it? Dude acted like he was praying yesterday inside the Sto. Niño de Taguig Parish in Taguig City.

In the CCTV footage posted by Father Daniel Estacio on Facebook yesterday, it shows how the man stole the microphone cord inside the church at around 7:47am.

In the video, the man can be seen acting like he was praying as he touched an image of Our Lady of Perpetual Help which was on top of a cabinet in front of the altar.

He continued to touch the religious image — a form of veneration — and put the parish’s microphone cable inside his bag.

The suspect can also be seen looking around the church, making sure the coast was clear.

Get this — before leaving, he touched the religious image once again and even did the sign of the cross.

Dude, remember the seventh commandment? Thou shalt not steal, bruh.

And apparently, this wasn’t his first time stealing from a church.

In March, he stole from Our Lady of Poor Parish in Taguig, Father Estacio told Radyo Inquirer. GMA News reported that the unidentified man has been stealing microphones and cables from different churches.

Based on CCTV footage from those other churches, the suspect stole the microphones and cables from the altar, commentator’s lectern, and the sacristy.

The Sto. Niño de Taguig Parish is asking for information from anyone who might know the suspect and his whereabouts, Radyo Inquirer stated. They are also open to hearing the man’s reason for stealing the microphone cable.

The video had 25,700 views and 1,290 shares as of this article’s posting. Netizens also shared their thoughts on the incident:

Lotlot Barros De Ocampo said in Filipino: “Wow you aren’t scared of the Lord.”

“He really did that inside the church,” Berna Dette wrote.

“Maybe he has a fetish for microphones hehehehe,” wrote Francis Gonzales.

“I hope the Lord forgives you, brother. You just had to do this bad deed [inside the church]. God bless [you],” said Rhose Matalang Sauadan.

That guy better hope priests are as forgiving as God wants them to be.
