“Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) legend and current Jose Rizal University (JRU) coach Vergel Meneses has reportedly filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) to run as vice mayor in Bulacan, Bulacan,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.
A photo posted on the @dbuzzketball2015 Instagram page shows Meneses holding up his COC.
The report noted: “Nicknamed ‘Aerial Voyager,’ Meneses was best known for his superior vertical leap while playing for Sunkist Orange/Swift Mighty meaty. He also played for Ginebra, Red Bull and Talk ‘N Text before retiring in 2006.”
