Flights canceled due to typhoon Mangkhut; areas put under signal number three

The Philippines is bracing for the arrival of typhoon Mangkhut, also known by its international name Ompong.

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced today that several domestic and international flights have been canceled. Other airlines such as Cebu Pacific Air, Air SWIFT, and Xiamen Air have also canceled their flights.

Stay dry folks, and be aware of the following canceled flights.

In its latest weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) said that Cagayan and Isabela could expect storm surges that could be as high as six meters.

PAG-ASA also put the following areas under signal number three:

  • Cagayan including the Babuyan group of islands
  • Apayao
  • Abra
  • Kalinga
  • Mountain Province
  • Ifugao
  • Nueva Vizcaya
  • Quirino
  • Northern Aurora
  • Isabela

If you haven’t prepared for the coming typhoon, do it now. It is expected to make landfall in Cagayan tomorrow morning.
