Filipino girlfriend of Vegas shooter admits fingerprints likely on ammunition used in attack

While Marilou Danley, the Filipino girlfriend of Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, was cleared of involvement in the shooting that killed 58 people in October, documents the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) released  Friday show that she admitted her fingerprints would likely be found on the ammunition used in the attack.

According to a report the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) published yesterday, the FBI documents revealed that Danley admitted that she would “occasionally” help Paddock load magazines, which is why her fingerprints are probably there.

Australian media reported in October that Danley was on holiday in the Philippines with three girlfriends at the time of the shooting, although she later returned to the United States shortly after the shooting.

According to the WSJ, guns and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition were found at Paddock’s house in a town about 90 minutes away from Las Vegas. More guns and ammunition were also found in his other home in Reno.

More than 20 firearms were found in the Mandalay Bay hotel room where he hid while shooting people attending a music festival.

Authorities said he purchased these firearms legally but police still don’t have a clear motive for the shooting.

The FBI is looking into filing charges related to the mass shooting.
