Even First Daughters want to try their luck at the massive Ultra Lotto jackpot that is now at more than PHP800 million (US$14.8 million).

Or at least Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio did when she bought a lotto ticket last yesterday, an event she — for some reason — felt needed to be posted on Instagram.

The photo was taken outside a lotto outlet in Mabini St., Davao City. In her caption, Duterte-Carpio even joked that she would “donate” PHP121 million (US$2.2 million) to cover Senator Antonio Trillanes IV’s legal fees.

Gee, that’s awfully generous of her.

Trillanes, one of President Rodrigo Duterte’s most vocal critics, is currently juggling coup charges after Duterte declared his amnesty void in late August because he allegedly failed to file an amnesty application form.

Last week, Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 150 ordered Trillanes’ arrest for his involvement in the 2007 Manila Peninsula siege.

The arrest warrant was served to Trillanes on the same day but the senator posted a bail of PHP200,000 (US$3,687.24) and immediately went back to his Senate office, where he had been holed up in for 3 weeks, ever since the revocation of his amnesty was announced early last month.

He only went back home on Saturday, after another Makati RTC branch decided to hold off on its decision to issue a warrant for his arrest.

But Trillanes isn’t the only one Duterte-Carpio planned to share her winnings with. In her caption, she also said that she’d give each of her children nicknamed Sharky, Stingray, and Stonefish PHP100million (US$1.8million).

PHP100million (US$1.8million) will go to a foundation which advocates child abuse prevention; PHP40million (US$737,804.68)  to “Jujo” who gave her PHP2,000 (US$36.88) to place more bets; and PHP20million (US$368,749.35) to “Myk” who gave her PHP4 (US$0.07)  as an additional bet among others.

No one won last night’s Ultra Lotto draw, so it looks like those people aren’t going to get their millions of pesos anytime soon.
