Duterte hosts solidarity dinner in Tondo, Manila

He’s winning people over with gentlemanly gestures.

On Thu night, Jun 30, President Rodrigo Duterte hosted a solidarity dinner with the poor at the Delpan Sports Complex in Tondo, Manila.

“Duterte said that the event was meant to show that he has not forgotten the poor outside Malacañan Palace. He even told his audience thet they were welcome in the Palace,” reports Trisha Macas on GMA News Online.

“Duterte won in Manila with more than 320,000 votes. He also dominated the elections in Tondo with more than 115,000 votes,” the report added.

In his speech, Duterte was quoted as saying, “Marami pong salamat at magtiis-tiis lang po kayo ng konti, at tulungan ninyo ako sa gobyerno.”

(“Thank you so much and please just bear a little more and help me with the government.”)
