This is just mighty clever.

Twitter user Emmanuel Erick Odiamar shared a now-viral tweet yesterday showing how he turned a roll of masking tape into a bowl by placing the plastic that contained his soup inside its hole.

“You bought soup and you remembered you didn’t have a bowl or a drinking glass?” he asks in Filipino in the caption. “But you have masking tape.”

He shared photos of his soup in plastic, the masking tape, and his invention on Twitter.

The 23-year-old sales designer told Coconuts Manila that he took the photos at his office in Uptown Mall in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.

He shared, however, that this wasn’t solely his idea. His colleague first taught him the technique on Wednesday.

He said: “The weather was a bit gloomy [on Wednesday], which made me crave for sabaw (soup) so I went up the food hall [in the mall establishment], bought food and soup from [the stall] Little Manila by Baliwag. I got Sinigang na Baboy (a Filipino stew).”

He said he went back to his office’s pantry to eat but realized that the soup wouldn’t be able to fit the plastic cup they had.

He said in a mix of English and Filipino: “Then, my colleague, Kim De Castro told me get a Masking/Packing Tape, yung malalim daw (a deep one).”

“So I did, a bit hesitant about it because it (the soup) might spill. Kim said, ‘I’ll teach [you] what Raul (the head of [our office’s delivery boys]) taught me.’ Then to my shock, it worked.”

Odiamar confirmed that he did, in fact, eat from the masking tape.

He said that he did it again yesterday to tweet it. “I can’t take full credit [for the idea though], Kim and Raul [are] also a part of it… I’m just the guy who tweeted it,” he said.

He said that he didn’t expect that his tweet would become “that massive.” He only intended to share it with his Twitter friends.

“[It was only supposed to be] a sort of ‘Hey guys I discovered something cute and stupid but also brilliant, come look’,” he told Coconuts.

The tweet had over 12,000 likes and 1,400 retweets as of this article’s posting. Netizens thought the idea was hella creative.

“[You’re an] innovative kween,” wrote @rafpabustan.

Odiamar replied: “A famous poet once said ‘I just might be [an] (Asian) Bill Gates in the making.’ Charot (which means “just joking” in Filipino).”

“[This is] witty,” wrote @heyitsj0.

“I swear, I learn a lot of things on Twitter,” said @shiankairu.

“I’m not amazed at the masking tape. I’m amazed that the soup fit [inside the] masking tape just right,” said @leighbeleo.

@BroWeCanWin commended him and said in all caps: “BRAVO!!!”

“[So resourceful],” said @angelicadianeb.

“FUCK THANK YOU PO FOR THE LIFE HACK MASTER,” wrote @rjayespinola.
