A 25-year-old online gamer was found dead after he exchanged heated words with a longtime friend in Laoag, Ilocos Norte on Fri, Jan 13.
The two men were supposedly playing the popular online game of Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) when the victim Ferdinand Madamba Jr., allegedly challenged his friend to a fistfight.
Madamba went to the computer shop where his friend was staying. A few minutes later, he was found dead.
According to the victim’s brother, the suspect and the victim earlier got into a minor fight during a recent wake in the village.
“The victim, who succumbed to stab wounds on his neck and stomach, was a former delivery boy of frozen foods and recently got interviewed for a new work,” ABS-CBN News reports.
The two gamers have been friends for more than 10 years.
