DFA Advisory: 7,289 active Covid-19 cases among Filipinos abroad as of July 5, 2021

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) continues to report relatively high numbers of new Covid-19 infections among Filipinos abroad, with 28 new cases reported yesterday, July 5; 99 on July 3; and 21 on June 29. There were no new cases reported on June 30 and on July 4.

This brings the total number of Covid-19 cases among Filipinos abroad to 20,909, with 7,289 currently active. The number of fatalities are at 1,243, while total recoveries are at 12,377.

Most of the cases—6,504 so far—have come from the Middle East and Africa, while 2,762 come from Asia and the Pacific and 2,484 from Europe. There have only been 627 cases in the Americas.
