Clark will soon host the Department of Transportation (DOTR), DOTr Secretary Art Tugade said Tuesday in an interview with radio DZMM.
Tugade said they will start moving the central office of the DOTr from Ortigas Avenue in Pasig City to Clark on July 28, Friday.
“This is our small contribution to relieve congestion in Metro Manila,” Tugade said.
He added that they will transfer their operations in phases to minimize the disruption of services to the public.
First to go will be the offices of the Secretary, the undersecretaries and assistant secretaries.
The transfer is expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
The DOTr said the move is also in line with the creation of the country’s National Government Center in Clark.
