In yet another raid conducted at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) on Jan 5, prison officials once again found pornographic DVDs, airconditioning units, sex toys, refrigerators, cellphones, and bladed weapons. Bureau of Corrections Director Ricardo Rainier Cruz III and NBP Supt. Richard Schwarzkopf Jr. led the raid — the 11th since November and the first in 2016.
“The latest Oplan Galugad inspection was conducted inside the fourth quadrant of the country’s main penitentiary. The quadrant, which houses Buildings 2, 5 and 8, has an estimated 3,000 prisoners,” reports Mike Navallo on ABS-CBNnews.com.
“One of confiscated cellphones also had a text message warning about the impending raid,” the report noted.
