Calamba corpse found stashed in car trunk after blood drips through

Authorities yesterday found what appears to be a strangled corpse inside the trunk of a silver Kia Picanto in Calamba City after blood oozed from the victim and out of the car.

A village security officer (barangay tanod) alerted the city’s cops about the suspicious dripping vehicle that was parked near a vulcanizing shop in the village of Lawa.

Calamba Police chief Maj. Dexter Domingo said the victim, named Dennis Silva, was a resident of Sta. Rosa, Laguna who worked as a sales staff in the neighboring city of San Pedro.

Silva’s neck was wrapped in electric wire and he sustained a wound in the head. The victim’s hands and feet were also bound and his mouth was muzzled. The police said CCTV footage on the site showed that the car was parked in the area since Monday night at past 9pm. The footage reportedly showed two men getting off the vehicle and walking away from the crime scene.

The police said the car was registered to a female resident of Quezon City.

Authorities are still investigating all possible suspects and motives behind the gruesome incident.
