A teen bike rider was left bloodied and injured after being hit by a mini multi-purpose vehicle in Taguig City early Thursday.

Taguig’s traffic management bureau based in Market! Market! identified the rider, who was hit at around 7 a.m., as a 15-year-old student in the city.

John Paul Escario, who witnessed the incident, posted a photo of the victim on his Facebook account.

He said the vehicle involved was a silver Avanza, with plate number UIQ 764.

In an interview with ABS-CBNnews.com, Escario said he saw the Avanza speeding in front of the Cypress Towers condominium before hitting the teen riding a bicycle. The Avanza then sped away.

“From what I saw, biglang humarurot ang Avanza. Nakita ko naka-higa na ‘yung bata sa road, duguan. ‘Yung bike niya yupi yung gulong,” he said.

Escario added that he got the plate number from another witness and the security guards nearby.

“I got the plate number from the other eye witness then I posted it in FB. The guards of the nearby establishment ang tumawag sa police ang reported the same plate number,” he said.

Traffic authorities said they are now verifying with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) the plate number reported to them.

They said that the victim is now safe at the Taguig Pateros General Hospital.
