Bee-pocalypse? We certainly hope not.

Thousands (millions?) of bees unexpectedly invaded the Ortigas area leaving locals feeling like they’re in a sci-fi film or in the popular Japanese anime Ghost Fighter.

In a video shared by Gabz Laurel from the Wynsum building along Emerald Avenue, bees were shown flying around the central business district at around 3:30 pm yesterday, Feb 28.

Laurel told Coconuts Manila that he was on the 17th floor when he took the video. Here’s another angle.

Laurel’s post has gone viral, thousands of shares in a matter of hours.

There is still no valid explanation for the strange incident, but netizens have already started panicking. And we completely understand why.

According to some theories, insects and animals lead the way to earthquake prediction. Oarfish, sunfish and a giant globster have been washed ashore in different parts of the Philippines.
