Authorities foiled a human trafficking attempt of several women, including three minors, in a “Bikini Open” show in a resort in Muntinlupa City, Metro Manila on Saturday, June 3.

Together with the Muntinlupa City Police and City Social Welfare, the NBI Anti-Human Trafficking Division raided Angelis Resort in Barangay (village) Poblacion. More than 100 people, mostly men, were caught drinking while watching the show. They were brought to the police station for questioning.

According to Police Sr. Supt. Dante Novicio, chief of the Muntinlupa Police, a concerned parent tipped them off when they found out their daughter was going to join the bikini open.

The show was allegedly held “for a cause” to help out someone sick, but according to Novicio, the show was going to raffle off the girls for the men to “take home.” The tickets were reportedly available online for PHP 1,000 each.

About 10 women were rescued, including three minors, and are now in the custody of theCity Social Welfare of Muntinlupa. Seven organizers were jailed, including the head organizer Girlie Santos, who was charged with violation of anti-trafficking in persons act at anti-child abuse law.

Four men were also arrested for carrying guns and bullets without a license to carry. They are Henry Alfiler, Jonathan Or, Jeffrey Santiago, Mariano Paular, Jr.
