People do crazy things for love and sometimes, it can get them into trouble.

A man was arrested earlier this morning after allegedly attempting to bribe Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents to release a woman he is courting.

Suspect Eduardo Seña was arrested in an entrapment operation at the PDEA headquarters in Quezon City, GMA News’ Unang Balita reported.

He allegedly contacted the PDEA and offered them money to set Lina Ahmad Grande free, the woman he is courting. Grande was one of three women arrested in a Taguig City buy-bust operation yesterday. Authorities allegedly found more than PHP4 million (US$75,921.59) worth of shabu (meth) during the anti-drug operation.

Seña then reportedly went to the PDEA headquarters with a bag containing PHP399,000 (US$7,573.18). He allegedly offered PHP500,000 (US$9,490.20) to an agent, PDEA-Special Enforcement Service Director 3 Levi Ortiz told GMA News.

According to ABS-CBN News, the transaction that occurred in the agency’s intelligence office was caught on video.

Apparently, Seña did it because of his deep love for Grande, whom he has been courting for more than a year. He also said that he was instructed to give the money by Grande’s family and that they promised that he could marry her if she is released.

Seña will face charges for violating Article 212 of the Revised Penal Code or for the corruption of public officials. Eleven of Grande’s relatives who went to the PDEA headquarters with him will also be investigated.
