3 Filipino families on Forbes list of Asia’s richest

Forbes magazine‘s latest list of the 50 richest families in Asia includes three Filipino clans.

The Sy family of the SM Group was ranked No. 17, with a net worth of US$12.8 billion. The family patriarch, Henry Sy, is the richest man in the Philippines.

The Zobel family of Ayala Corp. is at No. 37, with a net worth of US$5.1 billion.

At No. 39 is the Aboitiz family, with net worth of US$4.95 billion.

“Seventeen of the top 50 families listed in the Asia’s 50 Richest Families list hail from India. The richest family is Samsung’s Lee family from South Korea, with a net worth of US$29.6 billion,” reports ABS-CBN News.
