About 18 students who were attacked by a swarm of bees while hiking on Mount Tarak Ridge in Mariveles, Bataan were rescued by the authorities over the weekend, the local media reported today.

The bee attack left the hikers, all of whom were students of Bataan Peninsula State University, weak, suffering from chills, and nauseous. A few were also injured from walking.

Five people were initially brought down from the mountain, followed by the rest of the hikers. All of them were given first aid after descending from Tarak Ridge.

The students went up the mountain on Friday, and their guide called for help on Saturday. All hikers are now in stable condition.
