Chickenjoy in a music video? Yes, please.
Ylona Garcia’s foray into the global music scene is making a splash: The Pinoy Big Brother alum-turned-88rising artist just released her second music video “Don’t Go Changing” – and while the track is catchy enough to be your next quarantine LSS, the video alone is a gift that keeps on giving, with nostalgic Pinoy references such as Jollibee, Milo, and SkyFlakes making an appearance.
Directed by Louis Browne, who has worked with Olivia Rodrigo and Ellie Goulding among others, the video shows Ylona in an apartment awash in the tropical heat. We love how the video has become an Easter egg hunt of sorts as one tries to spot all the local childhood favorites.
“Don’t Go Changing” is Ylona’s second single since signing up with Paradise Rising, 88rising’s Philippine arm in partnership with Globe. In 2020, she released her debut single “All That”. In an interview with music magazine Bandwagon Asia, Ylona described her music as “pop with a hint of R&B and a dash of old soul”.

88rising is a global collective of Asian artists that includes the likes of Rich Brian, and was behind the 18-song soundtrack of the recent Marvel film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”.
