Billed as the “largest drag event ever in Asia” is Help Me I’m Dying, a one-woman show starring drag queen Katya Zamolodchikova — and it’s bound to be a wild and hilarious night.

The first show in the tour will be held in Quezon City’s New Frontier Theater and will include a meet and greet with Zamolodchikova herself.

Tickets for the event are available on Ticket Net and are priced at PHP2,650 to 12,720 (US$50.87 to $244.16).

 

Learn to accept your failures

Failures Anonymous is an event that invites anyone and everyone to have an open conversation about how different people deal with failure, why many are scared of failing, and what people can do to prepare for their next failure.

“Failures Anonymous isn’t a rant session: it’s a space to discuss our attitudes towards failing in the hopes that we end up seeing it more as a friend and less as a foe,” the event’s description reads.

The event will be held at the Kwago book bar, and will kept really casual. Door charge is PHP200 (US$3.84), which is inclusive of one free beer.

Those looking to explore their creative sides can visit Art Buffet, which will be held every Friday starting this week and until June 7 in Fully Booked’s High Street and Greenbelt stores.

As its name suggests, the event offers attendees a free-for-all trial of art materials. There will also be workshops scheduled every week. These include lessons on pencil art, cartoon and comic illustration, landscapes, and watercolor techniques.

Registration opens at 11am and participants are accommodated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Fill your shelves with even more books

Bookworms won’t be able to stop themselves from hoarding when they go to this year’s Book Binge Bazaar.

The event offers massive discounts on thousands of books, with some priced as low as PHP75 (US$1.44). This includes novels, inspirational books, travel guides, and children’s storybooks among others.

The bazaar started last Wednesday but will run until this coming Sunday. Doors open at 9am and close at 10pm except on Fridays and Saturdays when they close at 12am.

Admission is free.

For PHP14,088+ (US$270.42) guests will get a complimentary breakfast, plus PHP5,000 (US$95.98) worth of dining credits to use at City of Dreams restaurants. The package also includes discounts at restaurants and activities inside the complex. Mothers will also be gifted with an amenity box with an aromatherapy candle and diffuser.

The room package is for two adults and two children below 12 years old, while the buffet breakfast is for two adults and two children under five years old. Booking period is until May 30 and the stay period is until May 31.
