Walt Disney Studios posted a video yesterday showing Filipina singer Morissette Amon meeting Hollywood actor Will Smith and Alan Menken, the Oscar-winning composer responsible for the original music in the film Aladdin.

“Lea told me about you!” Menken says to Amon as they meet.

She then replied, “Lea’s such a sweetheart!”

The Lea in question is none other than Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga, who provided the singing voice of Princess Jasmine in the animated original version of Aladdin. Salonga also provided the singing voice of Fa Mulan in the 1998 animated Disney film Mulan.

Smith, who plays Genie in the new live-action Aladdin movie, gave Amon a hug and asked her to grant him his wish — for her to sing A Whole New World with Menken.

Smith said: “I know I’m supposed to be the Genie, but you know, can the Genie have a wish? Because you know, when you have the master and the lovely voice of Morissette here, I mean — I would like to make the wish to hear the two of you perform that song together.”

Spoiler: The two obliged.

Watch it all go down below. The original video has received 655,000 views, 37,000 likes, and 10,000 shares as of this article’s posting.

This isn’t the first time Amon performed A Whole New World. She and fellow Filipino singer Darren Espanto were chosen to sing the Philippine version of Aladdin‘s theme song A Whole New World during a special listening party with the media early May.

“You hit some great notes there!” the legendary composer told Amon.

The three ended the video by saying in unison: “Kamusta (How are you) Filipino fans!”

Netizens were thrilled that Amon met Smith and Menken.

Antonette Bacay Montaño said: “Wow! You’re so lucky to have met Alan Menken and Will Smith! Looking forward to hearing more Disney songs from you!”

Jhed Serolf Dacanay said, “OMG!!! Lucky You our dearest Morissette! We’re so proud of yoouuu!!”

Joshua Jumangit posted: “The key was super high yet Morissette NAILED it! What a special talent!”

Levalc Enac said Amon was “truly amazing.”

Christine Grace Alfato said in Filipino and English: “I was smiling the whole time. Thank you Morisette for representing our country! Thank you Disney for the trust to Filipino artist as always! We love you! Forever.”
