Date: Jan. 19, Saturday
Venue: Pinyahan Covered Court, Malakas St., Quezon City

The Star Wars world will become oh-so-real this Saturday when the Lightsaber & Bolo Dueling Tournament is held at Quezon City’s Pinyahan Covered Court.

The event is exactly what it sounds like — it has people “battling” it out using replicas of the iconic Star Wars sword.

There will also be a bolo dueling tournament during the event. A bolo being, of course, the large cutting tool used in the Philippines that’s very similar to a machete.

Sounds a little intense, but hey, it’s for a good cause.

According to the event’s Facebook page, profits from the event will be donated to The Amigonian Fathers & Brothers, a group of priests and religious brothers that oversee orphanages, and Bahay Pag-Asa, a home for the elderly.

Registration is open until tomorrow, Jan. 17.

For more information, visit the Lightsaber & Bolo Dueling Tournament Facebook event page.
