Former Girl’s Generation leader Taeyeon will be holding a concert in Manila this Friday, but her most dedicated fans probably already know that, since she announced it to her nearly 13 million Instagram followers some time ago.
The Facebook event page of the concert, simply titled “s”, describes it as the South Korean singer’s most “dramatic” one yet. There, Taeyeon will perform her hits including those from her first studio album My Voice, released last year.
Tickets are available on Ticket Net and are priced at PHP5,300 (US$100.62) – PHP 13,250 (US$251.56).

Get loads of Christmas shopping done in one place

Christmas shopping can be fun, but can turn into a real chore — especially for those who don’t have time to scour store after store for something “special”. That’s probably why many prefer to shop in bazaars during the holiday season, where a variety of more distinctive gift-worthy products are showcased.
This weekend, the annual Noel Bazaar will set up shop at the massive SMX Convention Center with booths selling crafts, clothing, accessories, and novelty items. Those still in the process of trimming their homes with Christmas ornaments can also find decor in the bazaar.
There will be a celebrity auction and an ukay-ukay (flea market) selling items pre-owned by stars. Those who want to make sure their Christmas ‘grams are on point can also attend the Noche Buena Food Styling & Photography workshop.

Go local with your Christmas gifts

Megamarkets like the Noel Bazaar can be overwhelming for some — if that’s the case, then the Minkle Holiday Bazaar might be a better fit.
Think of it as a more curated version of most Christmas markets. It’ll be held at The Grove by Rockwell in Pasig City and will include booths from more than 40 local brands. Items to be sold include accessories, potted plants, candles, artisanal food, and tools for sustainable living like bamboo toothbrushes.

Be serenaded with ballads from back in the day

Winding down the weekend is a live show by R&B group Boyz II Men, who will be performing in a concert together with a group of Filipina singers collectively known as the Divas.
Boyz II Men hits from the ’90s continue to be ubiquitous in radio stations all over this ballad-loving nation. Some are a bit dated and corny, sure, but can you really resist singing along to I’ll Make Love To You? Can you?
The group will be performing alongside the Divas, which is comprised of singers KZ Tandingan, Yeng Constantino, Kyla, and Angeline Quinto.

Go to a different kind of circus

Venue: XX XX, 20b, La Fuerza Plaza 1, 2241 Don Chino Roces Ave., Makati City
Makati bar XX XX (Read as “2o-20”) will be hosting its last Circus 2020 of the year and, of course, it’s Christmas-themed. They’ll have staple Christmas event features like food stalls and a Christmas market but, it being a XX XX event and all, the highlight will be the music.
Acts will include Basically Saturday Night, LaCrema, Hernandez Brothers, and Quark Henares among others. There will also be a film screening, live art, and circus performances.
