Date: Aug. 30 – Sept. 2 (Thursday – Sunday)
Venue: Cinema 2, SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City

Let’s face it — most of our movie-going experiences are filled with the loud, action-packed variety. For those who are ready to take a break from that, consider shaking up movie night and go to this year’s International Silent Film Festival instead.

Films to be showcased include the classic The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Italian stylish melodrama Satanic Rhapsody, and This Is Not a Lost Film Trilogy by Filipino artist Khavn.

The screenings will be held in Megamall’s Cinema 2, and admission is free.

Date: Aug. 30 – Sept. 2 (Thursday – Sunday)
Venue: Penthouse, 8 Rockwell, Hidalgo Dr., Rockwell Center, Makati City

While international brands dominate most malls in the country, the Philippines has plenty of its own talented artisans — you just have to try a little harder to find them.

The search will be made much easier this weekend at the ArteFino Fair, when artisans from all over the country will showcase their creative wares, including clothing, accessories, and home decor.

For more information, visit the ArteFino Fair 2018 Facebook event page.

Venue: Events Center, Century City Mall, Kalayaan Ave., Makati City

While that new book smell alone may be the kind of thing that makes true bibliophiles swoon, some of us like the thrill of the hunt — scouring bins and shelves to find that next great read.

Whatever your preference, this weekend’s Word Wonder book bazaar will likely cover your interests — here, visitors will find over 10,000 titles including books, magazines, and comics, as well as speakers and workshops.

And, admission is free.
