“All dreams are valid and worth fulfilling.” That’s a motto one might expect to see on the wall of a guidance counselor’s office, but not from a personal care brand.

And yet that’s the reason that homegrown personal care brand Silka gives for giving out twenty college scholarships for deserving students from all over the country—five each from Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao, and Metro Manila.

The twenty Academic, Learning, and Achievement Grant Awardees (ALAGA) scholars will receive a maximum of Php40,000 in tuition fee subsidies per semester, along with an allowance of up to P10,000 per semester. The scholarships are open to Filipino citizens in the Philippines, whether they are about to enter college or are already enrolled.

Candidates must have graduated in the top 15% of their high school graduating batch or is currently in the top 15% of their current college graduating batch. They must have no grade lower than 85%, a general average of at least 88%, and a history of good moral standing. Household income should also not exceed Php325,000.00 per year.

Scholars may enroll anywhere and for any course for their college studies, as long as it is an institution in the Philippines and recognized by the Philippine government.

Applications will be accepted beginning September 15, 2021 for scholarships that will be awarded for the first semester of the 2022 school year. More information on requirements may be found on the Alagang Silka website.
