Television host Kim Atienza yesterday called out e-commerce site Lazada for selling what appears to be a date rape drug.

“Shame on you @LazadaPH. Do you even know what you’re selling? Is this even legal? I’m calling you out. Shame,” Atienza tweeted, sharing a photo of what appears to be a sleeping woman with her breast popping out of her tank top.

Underneath the ad, it says “Deep sleep one-second spray marriage to fall asleep fast fan artifact hypnotic…”

In a follow-up tweet, the television weatherman wrote, “A date rape sleep spray or whatever they wish to call it is unacceptable and has to be called out. If it’s for insomnia I’d understand but the pic?”

Lazada’s Twitter account responded to Atienza’s complaint, and said that the ad had “already been coordinated with the relevant teams for checking and investigation.” The ad appears to have been taken down and can no longer be seen on Lazada.

Coconuts Manila has reached out to Lazada for their reaction to Atienza’s complaint but we have yet to hear from them as of posting time.

Atienza is the resident weatherman of the nightly news program TV Patrol. The former councilor of Manila is known for his passion for animals and sports.
