Several netizens have called out fans of Korean actor Nam Joo-hyuk for “harassing” the star during his meet-and-greet with 2NE1’s Sandara Park on Sunday at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.

A total of 200 fans were given the opportunity to have their photos taken with Nam and Park on stage. Both stars are endorsers of clothing brand Penshoppe, who organized the event.

In video clips posted on Twitter, several fans are seen grabbing Nam’s hands. They continued to do this in spite of repeated warnings from the event’s hosts not to touch the actor. Even Park was caught in the fracas.

A Twitter user accused the fans of committing “sexual harassment” for touching him at the “center parts” of his body.

Fan @YgStanxxi wrote: “This has become unforgettable in a bad way for him [Nam].”

@YgStanxxi added: “Scene before he became totally pissed. He was obviously hurt by the way fans grabbed his hands.”

Fan @kyung_hoe said the situation was “downright disgusting.”

Even users on Reddit weren’t pleased by the fans’ behavior.

-Friday_Rat- reminded fans: “Just because the person is a public figure, does not mean you have any right to invade their personal space.”

Netizen Dooritoo18 said that Nam got scratches in his arm from the fans.

A certain mariow08 said the whole thing was “extremely distressing.” The user also slammed the organizers for failing to get bouncers to properly organize the photo sessions.

He wrote: “Also deserving of shame are the organizers who couldn’t even hire proper security to pacify the fans — each batch (there were multiple!) were literally running to get to him first.”

The incident has led one fan group to apologize to Nam and Dara. In a statement posted yesterday, the group asked for forgiveness for what went down during the event.

Nam first gained prominence as the star of Korean drama Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, which was particularly popular in the Philippines. Park, on the other hand,  started her showbiz career in the Philippines before becoming a member of the now-disbanded Korean girl group 2NE1.
