Whether you’re a true blue Manileño, someone who just moved here, or are just visiting, you’ve probably already noticed that there is never a lack of things to do in Manila. This is Coconuts Manila’s guide to everything you need to check out over the weekend. Peruse it, take note of everything that interests you, and don’t forget to let us know all about it.
Start Halloween right and go to a mystery game inside a museum
Date: Oct. 27, Friday
Venue: Ayala Museum, Makati City
It’s Halloween weekend! If you’re tired of the usual club parties, Quest of Heroes might be the event for you. It’s a mystery game organized by Mystery Manila and Ayala Museum that will have you “solve the mysteries” and “save the world.”
Honestly, that already sounds like so much fun, but what makes it even better is everyone’s encouraged to wear a costume — it’s Halloween after all.
What’s In The Dark?
Date: Oct. 27 – 29
Venue: The Axon, Green Sun Hotel, Makati City
Not up for solving a mystery this weekend? Here’s another alternative activity for Halloween — go watch a play. What’s In The Dark? features two original scripts. Beheld is about a man’s wounded psyche, seen through the eyes of a child, while Carol is about love, loss, and “the consequences that we must face when we transgress morality.”
Visit their Facebook event page for more details on tickets.
LunatiCon 2017
Date: Oct. 29, Friday
Venue: Venture Space PH, Mandaluyong City
It’s ok too if you want to skip Halloween altogether. This weekend, Los Lunaticos Bravos will be celebrating 151st anniversary of Filipino hero Antonio Luna’s birth through a mini-convention called LunatiCon 2017.
The event is for anyone interested in Filipino culture because it will include a discussion panel with experts on the topic.
Their Facebook event page also says that TBA Studios, the producers of the hit film Heneral Luna will have special surprises for the attendees. Here’s hoping they’re more previews of the upcoming Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral.
Bonus:
Manila Wonder by Wonderfruit Festival, Oct. 26, Thursday at Polilya, Makati City
