What to do in Manila this weekend (Nov. 17 – 19): Justice League, Super Science Saturdays, Nuvali Magical Field of Lights

Whether you’re a true blue Manileño, someone who just moved here, or are just visiting, you’ve probably already noticed that there is never a lack of things to do in Manila. This is Coconuts Manila’s guide to everything you need to check out over the weekend. Peruse it, take note of everything that interests you, and don’t forget to let us know all about it.

Take a break from your binge-watching and catch a movie in a cinema

Date: Opens Nov. 15, Wednesday
Venue: All major movie theaters

Because of the unpredictable traffic brought by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit this week, you’ve probably been home, catching up on Netflix during the holiday, but let us talk you into watching a movie in a theater for a change.

Justice League is premiering here on Wednesday, Nov. 15 and while reviews have been mixed, we’re still hopeful it’ll be more like the successful Wonder Woman and not the questionable Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

It’s also still a good enough reason to ditch your tsinelas (slippers) and enjoy a superhero movie with all the fix-ins — go on, treat yourself and get candy with your bucket of popcorn.

Prep the kids to go back to school

Date: Nov. 18, Saturday
Venue: The Mind Museum, Bonifacio Global City

Those who have kids know that it’ll be difficult to get them excited about school after the long holiday, but here’s one way you can try.

Super Science Saturdays at The Mind Museum is back and this week, children can look forward to an activity that’ll awaken their senses (and hopefully a love for science).

They’ll learn how to mix their own scents and learn the science behind it all. You can also join in on the fun and get yourself a ticket too.

Start Christmas early with a mini-vacation to Nuvali

Date: Anytime this very long weekend
Venue: Nuvali, Sta. Rosa, Laguna

For your last hurrah before the extra long weekend ends, drive down to Nuvali. They just opened their Magical Field of Lights last Saturday, in time for the upcoming Christmas season.

Imagine 5,000 tulip bud lights that change color adorn a 3,600 sqm. space in the development. Don’t miss them light out every 30 minutes from 6pm to 10pm every night.

If you plan on staying in the area for the night, check in to the Seda Nuvali boutique hotel and enjoy a vacation away from the bustle of Manila, but close enough so that you’re not tired from the drive come next Monday.
