What to do in Manila this weekend (Aug. 18 – 20): In The Mix, Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino, and Ariana Grande

Whether you’re a true blue Manileño, someone who just moved here, or are just visiting, you’ve probably already noticed that there is never a lack of things to do in Manila. Start the weekend early and go to the In The Mix Festival

Date: Aug. 17, Thursday

Venue: Mall of Asia Arena

More good news: weekend festivities start on Thursday with this year’s In The Mix Festival. The event’s lineup includes artists from various genres including pop, pop punk, indie rock, and synthpop. Watch Two Door Cinema Club, 5 Seconds of Summer, Zara Larsson, DNCE, Daya, and Dua Lupa all on one night. It’s likea  mix tape, only live.

Continue the local film marathon with Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino

Date: Aug. 16 – 22 (Wednesday – Tuesday)

Venue: All major cinemas nationwide

Still hung over from Cinemalaya? You can watch more independent Filipino films this weekend thanks to the first Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino. The film festival has 12 films that will be screened in all major cinemas nationwide for one week.

Party with G-Eazy at The Palace

Date: Aug. 18, Friday

Venue: Valkyrie Night Club

If you’d rather listen to music with a cocktail on hand, go to Valkyrie at The Palace on Friday and dance as rapper G-Eazy performs. Don’t forget to get a table reserved for you and your friends.

Venue: Mall of Asia Arena
