Kids may say the darndest things but most of the time, their statements are actually quite true.
Take this boy who was a contestant in the variety show It’s Showtime yesterday.
The boy, named Carl, was part of the MiniMe segment where children impersonate their celebrity idols. Carl was the “mini-me” of Filipino actor Coco Martin who stars in the long-running ABS-CBN show Ang Probinsyano (The Man from the Province) where he plays the role of a cop who battles drug syndicates and other criminals.
In an attempt to give Carl a nice surprise, It’s Showtime host McCoy de Leon went on stage dressed like Martin’s cop character in full police uniform.
Little did the hosts know that they are the ones who will be shocked.
TV host Vhong Navarro prompted Carl to give the “police officer” a trophy “Because of course, he’s a hero, he helps us out.”
But the child refused, saying in Filipino: “What hero? He shoots [people].”
So woke.
Apart from cracking up the hosts on stage, Carl’s statement also made an impression on Twitter user @cayasryan who posted about it on the social media platform.
“HAHAHA KID IS W O K E,” @cayasryan tweeted.

His post has gone viral and now has over 44,000 likes and 7,900 retweets.

Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte’s deadly war on drugs, which is headed by the Philippine National Police, has reportedly claimed 12,000 lives, according to the Human Rights Watch.
While many have spoken out against the anti-narcotics crackdown, many also still support the president because unfortunately, not everyone is as woke as this kid.
