More travelers can now enjoy the wonders of Camiguin after budget carrier Cebu Pacific announced that they are launching direct flights between Manila and Camiguin on November 15.

The carrier will offer one roundtrip flight between Manila and Camiguin every Monday and Friday, Cebu Pacific said.

The airline added that they have also resumed flights between Camiguin and Cebu, initially the most popular gateway to the Northern Mindanao island.

On Facebook, the Department of Tourism confirmed that Camiguin has reopened for local tourists, who are required to register with cleancamiguinqr.com and fill out a health declaration form.

Tourists will also need to upload their vaccination cards on the website, as well as a negative RT-PCR result taken 72 hours before arriving if coming from Luzon. Meanwhile, tourists coming from Visayas and Mindanao need to present test results taken 48 hours before their scheduled arrival.

Camiguin is a major tourist destination in Northern Mindanao and was one of the most visited sites in the country pre-COVID, welcoming close to a million tourists annually. Almost 60% of Camiguin’s tourist workers have been vaccinated as of October, the DOT said.
