Look who’s coming, henny — Aquaria, the winner of the reality show Rupaul’s Drag Race, is coming to Manila in September, as announced by retail giant The SM Store on its Facebook account yesterday.
The Facebook announcement also includes a video in which Aquaria greets her Pinoy fans.
As the SM Store’s latest celeb endorser, Aquaria will be at the Mega Fashion Hall in SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City on Sept. 2. She will also make an appearance at The Block Atrium in SM North EDSA in Quezon City.
Details of the appearances were kept to a minimum, but SM stated that the events will be “the biggest fashion eleganza extravaganza” and will be free for the public to attend.
Aquaria, whose real name is Giovanni Palandrani, won Drag Race’s 10th season in 2018. She has modeled for Moschino and H&M and became known as the first drag queen to walk the Met Gala in New York in 2019.
Her fans were thrilled with SM’s announcement. “SM you are giving me a heart attack,” wrote Queenzy Torres.
Louis Espinosa said that the SM Megamall event will happen on his 21st birthday and that “Meeting her (Aquaria) will be one of the [best] birthday gifts ever.”
Gale Martinez tagged a friend and simply wrote: “We’re going.”
