This is definitely not the reaction we were expecting.
Actor Cesar Montano responded to reports that his estranged wife Sunshine Cruz is now dating Macky Mathay, grandson of the late Quezon City Mayor Mel Mathay.
Macky’s father, Ismael “Chuck” Mathay III, is also the father of actress Ara Mina. Macky and Ara are half-siblings, as Chuck’s mom is Nerissa Reyes (whom Chuck is married to) and Ara’s mom is Venus Imperial (with whom Chuck had a past relationship).

In a statement sent to PEP, Cesar said “relieved to hear of the news.”
“Sana ito na nga ang chance niya na maging tunay na maligaya,” he said.
(“I hope this is her chance to be truly happy.”)
He added. “My very best wishes go to her.”
So, is Cesar being a supportive estranged husband — or should we be reading between the lines?
Cesar and Sunshine separated in 2013, although their marriage has yet to be officially annulled. The two have three daughters.
Meanwhile, Macky is reportedlyt estranged from wife Camille Fariñas, daughter of Ilocos Norte Representative Rudy Fariñas.
Here’s where things get a bit complicated.
Camille’s Instagram post on Tue, Oct 11, caught the attention of netizens, many assuming that it may referring to Sunshine and her rumored relationship with Macky.
“You say it best… when you say nothing at all. I miss blue skies, good weather, sea, sand, air, good food, good massage, and a good night’s sleep! Happy I have my 3 kids to give me all that and more! (So much for saying nothing at all),” she wrote.
Sunshine also has an Instagram post on Tue, Oct 11.
She posted: “You don’t have to justify your happiness, your dreams, or your confidence to anyone. Walk in freedom.”
