BTS: Alden Richards cover shoot for Garage magazine

This month’s issue of Garage magazine with man of the hour Alden Richards on the cover is four times the fun. Uh huh, Alden gets four different cover layouts for this issue.

The idea was to capture the different facets of Alden Richards — smiling Alden, fashionista Alden, bad boy Alden, and serious Alden.

“The fourth one is exclusively for the digital edition of the magazine,” Rey Ilagan, editor-in-chief of Garage explained to Coconuts Manila over mobile.

The magazine has been trying to book Alden as early as September, “but we couldn’t get a slot because he was so busy,” Ilagan continued.

GMA-7’s public relations officer Mark Sablan agreed: “As early as September, Alden was already full booked all the way until December. We were trying to look for availabilities after Eat Bulaga! but it was so crazy, that even a morning schedule, we agreed na.”

Garage finally nabbed a precious three-hour morning slot, 10 days before the actual shoot.

“We did 8-10 layouts in just an hour,” Ilagan said. Apparently, Alden arrived late because he was shooting for his movie the previous night and finished late. “To be fair, he was so game! Hindi halatang walang tulog. He was laughing with the crew.”

Because he had Eat Bulaga! after, Alden requested that they do it at a studio near Broadway. The Kapuso star also requested for the usual glam team: Mark Nicdao as photographer, Kusi Ho for makeup and Aries Manal as hairstylist.

While this is Alden’s third time to grace Garage’s cover, this is his first time to appear solo.

The first was in Feb 2013 for the magazine’s “Young Talents” issue and the second one was a year later in Feb 2014, with Elmo Magalona and Enrique Gil.
