Video of two thugs threatening a Good Samaritan goes viral online

A Good Samaritan wanted to stop two thugs from mugging a woman, but he got threatened instead.

A video showing two armed robbers threatening a motorist after he knocked into them while they were allegedly mugging a woman has gone viral on social media.

The 51-second video – presumably shot by one of the residents of a residential area in Taman Midah, Cheras – shows two men on a motorcycle shouting at the driver of a silver Honda Insight.

One of the suspects can be seen hitting the car while a passenger alighted from the Honda, picked up a traffic cone and threw it at the other suspect.

During the entire ordeal, the driver of the vehicle can be heard blaring his horns to attract attention.

The assailants then can be seen fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.

The video was first uploaded by the Klang Indian Organisation on Facebook on Friday and it quickly made its round on social media.

After the video went viral, Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Chong Kok Sin confirmed the incident.

ACP Chong told The Star Online that the incident happened at around 2pm on Thursday when the 19-year-old victim was chatting with her friend outside her house in Jalan Midah Tengah 2 in Taman Midah.

Two men on a motorcycle reportedly approached them, carrying a parang and demanded them to hand over their cash and valuables.

The victim reportedly handed over an iPhone 5 and around RM210 in cash.

While they were trying to make their escape, the suspects reportedly slammed into the Honda Insight and they were thrown off their machines.

“One of the occupants of the car got out, grabbed a traffic cone and threw it at one of the suspects.

“The other suspect waved a parang at the driver and slashed his right arm,” ACP Chong was quoted as saying.

Both suspects managed to escape but they reportedly left behind a sling bag containing a spanner and a screw driver.

ACP Chong added that the license plate, bearing the number WXD 5357, was fake which belonged to a car.

The police are reportedly hunting the suspects, according to ACP Chong.
