[VIDEO] Malaysian eats ornamental aquarium fish, cooks it in most unimaginative way possible

A 28-year-old Malaysian man has taken the RM3,000 (US$750) ornamental aquarium fish Flowerhorn cichlids, known for its bright colors and general decorative existence, and fried it unimaginatively with a bit of saccharin-laced chili sauce.

It’s the culinary equivalent of buying couture Dior, and deciding to wear it to a water park: completely out of place, and ultimately wasteful of good fabric/flesh.

Muhammad Firdaus Othman posted his culinary video, and photos to Facebook 12 July, after buying the fish from his friend. No word on whether the friend was aware of the fish’s fate.

Othman takes the fish’s head and chops it off, telling the camera confidently that it is mostly made up of fats. He then fries, and consumed the fish with friends.

Upon reviewing it he calls it: “tasty, sweet, and juicy, even better than tilapia.” A description as imaginative as his cooking methods. It should also be noted that tilapia costs RM14 per kilo.

The post has garnered over 4 million views, and 23,000 shares.
