Trying to prevent car from rolling downhill, woman crushed to death

A woman was run over by her own car after she failed to stop it from rolling downhill on Saturday.

According to a report by The New Straits Times, the victim, 40-year-old Goo Guan Yen, had parked her Proton Iriz on a hillslope in Kampung Baru, Salak South, when it suddenly started reversing downhill.

Panicked, Goo reportedly tried to stop the car by pressing her back against it but failed to do so.

The car eventually came to a half when her body was pinned under the front wheels.

City Fire and Rescue Department chief operations officer Samsol Maarif Saibani told the daily that six firemen were dispatched to the scene after being alerted to the incident at around 9.48am.

It reportedly took the firemen about 15 minutes to free her body.

Goo was pronounced dead at the scene, and her body was sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem.
