Teacher allegedly downs poison after criticism about her work performance

A teacher from a Tamil school in Klang allegedly attempted suicide by drinking poison after receiving criticisms about her work performance.

According to a news report by Malaysia Nanban, translated by The Star Online, the 37-year-old woman’s husband found her unconscious at their home around 6.30pm on Friday.

The woman, who teaches English and Maths at the school, was rushed by her husband to the Klang Hospital where she underwent emergency treatment.

The mother of two reportedly left a voice recording in which she spoke about receiving a warning letter for her poor work performance.

The woman’s husband, as well as several staff from the school, have reportedly lodged police reports demanding an investigation into the matter, the Tamil daily reported.
