This state has just announced a 10 percent property discount for all

Rejoice, home buyers; Selangor has announced a property discount for all! Yay!

Selangor exco Datuk Teng Chang Khim told The New Straits Times that those who are looking to buy serviced apartments, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and Small Office/Virtual Office (SOVO) units under the affordable category in the state are entitled to a 10 per cent discount starting next month.

The move, according to Teng, is to ensure that those who are looking to buy a property but unable to do so due to the sky-high prices would get a fair chance and a helping hand.

“The 10 per cent discount is applicable to all, regardless if they have the Bumiputera status or not,” he was quoted as saying.

Earlier, newspaper reports suggested that the Selangor state government plans to abolish the 10 per cent discount for Bumiputera – which, according to Teng, is not true.

“The article which said that the Selangor state government will abolish the 10 per cent discount for Bumiputera is inaccurate because the deduction is for all.

“Following discussions, the Selangor state government was in the opinion that there was no need for the discount to be given only to the Bumiputera because the properties are for them, as well as other communities, who are from the lower and medium income groups,” he was further quoted as saying.
