Speed limit reduced for federal, state roads during Raya period

We know you can’t wait to rush back to your hometown and spend some quality time with your loved ones this Hari Raya, but this year, you’ll have to do it 10km/h slower.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai told The Star Online that the authorities will conduct a nationwide Ops Bersepadu from June 29 to July 13.

During this period, Liow said, the speed limit on federal roads will be reduced from 90 km/h to 80 km/h while the maximum speed for state roads will be dropped to 70 km/h.

Liow also reminded drivers and passengers to buckle their seat belts when they’re on the road and adhere to the speed limit.
