Robbers break into businessman’s bungalow, escape with loot worth RM2.5mil

A businessman lost more than RM2.5 million after robbers reportedly broke into his bungalow and fled with his valuables on Sunday.

According to a report by China Press, translated by The Star Online, the man and his family were having dinner outside when the robbers broke into his home between 7pm to 10pm.

The Chinese daily reported that the robbers allegedly entered the man’s bungalow, located at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Golf and Country Club in Shah Alam, through the master bedroom’s balcony on the first floor.

The robbers allegedly took two security deposit boxes containing a ring worth RM750,000, two Rolex watches, diamonds, jewellery and a huge amount of cash before fleeing through the back door.

Police sources told the daily that the bungalow was not equipped with an alarm system, and the CCTV cameras had reportedly malfunctioned.

“There were two Filipino maids at home at the time, but they claimed that they didn’t suspect anything as they were in their room.

“They told the police that as the motor to a fountain built outside the house was quite noisy, they didn’t hear anything suspicious,” the sources told China Press.
